Top 10 Biggest Casinos In The World

Biggest Casinos

Casino establishments are some of the most fun places on earth. They provide you with an ample variety of games of chance, such as slots, roulette, blackjack, craps, keno, baccarat, poker, and many others.

What Can You Find on a Casino Floor?

Casinos in places such as Las Vegas and Atlantic City feature thousands of slots. The biggest ones often have thousands of slot machines along with hundreds of table games. Some of these tables will be put in discreet private rooms where high roller or VIP customers can have quiet sessions by themselves and a select company of other players. There are several main groups of experiences you can find on-site on the casino gaming floor.

Slot Machines

Slot machines are easily the most popular form of entertainment a casino has to offer. There are more than 900,000 slot machines installed in the United States at the present day, and their numbers are increasing, despite some venues shutting down and some of the machines becoming obsolete.

Blackjack

The United States offers thousands of blackjack tables and while they are not as dominant as slots, they are always packed. Blackjack is a game of chance that allows you to use skill and game understanding to try and beat the house.

Baccarat

Baccarat is another famous game that you will find on casino floors. There is a good reason for that. In places like Macau, baccarat is often all the rage with VIP and high roller players converging on the special administrative region to place down big wagers.

Other Table Games

There are tons of other table games to explore at casinos as well. Some, such as Casino War will be a little more niche, but you are likely to always find games such as Craps and Keno which are other popular dice options.

Poker

Poker is a category of its own. Casinos will have instances of video poker, which is another popular game, but the United States is home to the biggest live poker events in the world. As such, you can expect to find a ton of worthwhile games, such as Texas Hold’em, Omaha, and others.

Must-Have Features of a Big Casino

Complimentary Perks

Half a century ago, playing in land-based casinos was significantly different from playing in them now, at least when it comes to complimentary perks and rewards visitors can enjoy.

High Safety Levels

Every casino should be safe. You don’t want to have the lingering fear that you’ll be robbed or that something unpleasant will happen to you when you visit a casino.
Luckily, casinos have come a long way since the old Wild Wild West days and are now very safe to play at. This is especially true if you stick to big names with a proven reputation that have been in the business for a while.

Advanced Games

Online casinos like DON99 Singapore have the advantage of churning out advanced and modern games without any physical limitations.
While land-based properties are still limited by their gaming space, they have jumped on the trend of offering more advanced casino games. This is primarily visible through the presence of modern slot machines, progressive slots, and similar games.

What is the Biggest casino in the world?

Casinos don’t come alone, though, there is a whole complex of entertainment to accommodate each and every taste. They also offer hotel suites to come stay and play and play and play.

Foxwoods Resort Casino

Foxwoods Resort Casino is a hotel and casino complex owned and operated by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation on their reservation located in Ledyard, Connecticut.

Foxwoods is not only the largest resort casino in North America. Think of it as more like a city within itself. You can spend several days at Foxwoods Resort Casino and not run out of entertainment and dining options. Foxwoods covers an area of 9,000,000 sq feet including 6 casinos and 250 gaming tables. If you don’t have a map, you can easily get lost inside. I decided to take a short walk to discover the different parts of the resort and ended up walking around for more than 2 hours.
Foxwoods Resort Casino is owned and operated by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation – a federally recognized Indian tribe located in Southeastern Connecticut. The area is absolutely stunning with dense forests all around the resort.

The upscale Fox Tower at Foxwoods Resort and Casino has 856 chic, thoughtfully decorated rooms and spacious bathrooms with showers that are downright luxurious. The hotel has its own small casino, a full-service spa, a fitness area, four on-site restaurants (one of which doubles as a nightclub), the Grand Theater with popular live entertainment, and a gigantic outdoor pool. The downside? The hotel is about a 10-minute walk to the main part of Foxwoods. Travelers might want to also check out the Grand Pequot Tower — while it’s less luxurious, it’s right in the thick of Foxwoods.

WinStar World Casino

WinStar World Casino and Resort is an American tribal casino and hotel located in Thackerville, Oklahoma, near the Oklahoma–Texas state line. It is owned and operated by the Chickasaw Nation.

The WinStar World Casino is now bigger than anything they have in Vegas, it’s actually bigger than the 3 biggest casinos in Vegas, combined, to give you an idea of the scale here. Of course, there are a lot of casinos in Las Vegas and the total gaming space there is many times what the WinStar boasts, but this little town of 445 people in Oklahoma is now solidly on the map.

Bigger may not necessarily mean better, but when you look at how many people visit this quite isolated casino, you know that they must have something going for them. They are in a pretty good location actually, on the border between Oklahoma and Texas, only about an hour away from the 6.5 million people in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and two hours away from Oklahoma City’s 1.3 million people.

The Venetian Macao

The Venetian Macao is a hotel and casino resort in Macau owned by the American Las Vegas Sands company. The 39-story structure on Macau’s Cotai Strip has 10,500,000-square-foot of floor space, and is modeled on its sister casino resort The Venetian Las Vegas.

You either love it or you hate it. The Venetian Macao’s strong presence in the Cotai area is both its draw and its bane. It’s not everywhere you have singing gondoliers in manmade canals leading to clowns on stilts under an always-blue sky—but the other place you find it is Vegas, not Venice. Service is geared toward mainland Chinese gamblers, confirming that the Venetian is first a casino, second a shopping mall, third a convention and entertainment venue, and only last a hotel. On the upside, its Royale, Bella, and Rialto suites are spacious enough for family-sized comfort, and the extra TV in every room, the variety of swimming pools, and the miniature 18-hole golf course make the difference with the kids. Come for the over-the-top environment, but be prepared to share it with a round-the-clock flow of tourists.

MGM Grand

The MGM Grand Las Vegas is a hotel and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The MGM Grand is the largest single hotel in the world with 6,852 rooms.

When it comes to the 5,044-room, upscale MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, “grand” is the operative word. One of the biggest hotels (by room count) in Las Vegas also has many of the best restaurants in town, a massive casino, an enormous and fun pool complex, and a huge range of on-site entertainment options. This place is so big and diverse that everyone — yes, everyone — can find what they want, even if the service is unexceptional. All that said, this is a solid candidate for those looking to find all the extravagance and variety of Vegas — including comfortable rooms with king beds, minibars, and Carrera marble bathrooms — under one roof. On the downside, note that rooms lack coffeemakers and there’s a hefty daily resort fee (covering Wi-Fi and fitness center access) – though both are typical for Vegas. It’s worth comparing rates at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, which offers a similar everything-but-the-kitchen-sink experience, though some travelers may find its location less desirable.

City of Dreams

Ponte 16 Resort Macau is located in Santo António, Macau, is a hotel and casino resort co-developed by SJM Investment Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sociedade de Jogos de Macau (in turn, a subsidiary of Sociedade de Turismo e Diversões de Macau, which owns 51% of the project, and Macau Success Limited which owns 49% of the project. The resort opened on 1 February 2008.

It’s fair to say that the battle for Macau’s best casino currently boils down to The Venetian Macau vs City of Dreams Macau.

Casino Tourism : The City of Dreams Macau is a one of a new breed of mega, casino resorts in the city and with its round the clock entertainment, high-end hotels and gourmet restaurants it aims to be a destination for tourists looking to relax as well as gamblers.

If you’re looking for a Vegas-style resort in Macau, the City of Dreams Macau is a little more stylish than the faux cobblestones and gondoliers of the Venetian across the road. In addition to unrivaled dining and accommodation options, 42,000 sq. feet of gaming floor also means there is more than enough action to keep you and your wallet happy.

Sands Macao

Wynn Macau is a luxury hotel and casino resort in the Macau Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China with two towers containing a total of 1,008 rooms and suites, approximately 273,000 square feet (25,400 m2) of casino space, over 59,000 square feet (5,500 m2) of retail space, eight casual and fine dining restaurants, two spas, a salon and a pool.
Wynn Macau is operated by international resort developer Wynn Resorts. Wynn Macau opened on 6 September 2006 and its second tower, Encore, opened on 21 April 2010.

Bellagio

The Venetian Las Vegas is a luxury hotel and casino resort located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, United States, on the site of the old Sands Hotel. Designed by KlingStubbins, the hotel tower contains 36 stories and rises 475 feet.

This 3,933-room Italian “villa” is the embodiment of Las Vegas luxury. The elaborate Italian-themed courtyard is one of many highlights, with five swimming pools, elaborate sculptures, and fountains. Rooms are sophisticated and contemporary, and all have marble bathrooms with separate glass showers and soaking tubs. Guests (mostly couples, and a healthy dose of families and business travelers) will find formal room service, a superb fitness center and spa, and the best buffet on the Strip; attractions such as the indoor botanical gardens and the dancing fountains are world-famous. Cirque du Soleil performs here, and the massive gaming floor is one of the best in Vegas. The Bellagio has prices to match its five-pearl service; in terms of competition, only the Encore and the Cosmopolitan can compare.

Ponte 16

Casino Lisboa is a casino located at Parque das Nações in the city of Lisbon, Portugal. It was inaugurated and opened to the public on April 19, 2006. The casino, at the time of opening, had around 700 slot machines, 22 gaming tables, 4 bars, 3 restaurants and a theater seating 600.

Set in the historic quarter of Macau, the luxury Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16 provides a bit of glitz in an authentic setting. The riverfront location means superb views from the hotel’s poolside terrace, a couple of its restaurants, and most of its 408 rooms, plus the property has easy access to the city’s tourist attractions. While the pool is a good size and the health and the spa facilities are above average, there’s not much here for kids. Those who prefer more sanitized surroundings should check out Cotai Strip hotels — such as Hard Rock or Crown Towers.

Wynn Macau

With over 1,000 rooms, the Wynn Macau is an enormous, glitzy, luxury hotel on the Macau Peninsula near plenty of other high-end hotels and casinos. From choreographed fountain displays to the lavish, theatrical interiors, this property feels very Las Vegas, and has high-end perks like Michelin-rated dining. Rooms are big and bright, though not exactly chic, with features like huge flat-screen TVs and bathrooms with separate soaking tubs. Property highlights include an outdoor pool in a tropical garden, a luxury spa, and a total of eight on-site eateries. Despite the pizzazz, some guests may find the vibe a bit conservative — those who prefer their luxury more fun and casual should check out the Hard Rock Hotel on the Cotai Strip.

The Venetian

The Venetian Las Vegas is a luxury hotel and casino resort located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, United States, on the site of the old Sands Hotel. Designed by KlingStubbins, the hotel tower contains 36 stories and rises 475 feet.

The Venetian is one of the best-known theme hotels in Vegas, embracing its fine Italian design with eye-catching frescos and grand columns throughout. Outside, Venice’s top landmarks like the Campanile, St. Mark’s Square and the Doge’s Palace are recreated. Inside, the resort begins to push the kitsch envelope with the Grand Canal Shoppes inside an indoor replica of Venice. You can even take a gondola ride to the shops, and despite the cheese factor and the price, many say the ticket is worth it. The suite-style digs have separate sunken living rooms, large windows and Italian marble bathrooms. Still, some say the hotel’s location on the north end of the Strip is a bit inconvenient as it’s removed from some of the more popular restaurants and nightclubs. But guests still heap praise on the accommodating staff at the luxurious Canyon Ranch spa + fitness (some areas require an extra fee), and the variety of dining choices on-site.

Casino Lisboa
